Telemedicine
Telemedicine at Shrinkty means secure, HIPAA-compliant video visits — psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and therapy — for patients ages 13 and up anywhere in Tennessee. It's for anyone who wants care without the drive; our Murfreesboro, McMinnville, and Dickson offices remain available for visits that must happen in person, like Spravato®.
Care that comes to you
Shrinkty started as a telemedicine practice, and video visits remain a core part of how we deliver care. If you live in Tennessee, you can see the same providers our in-office patients see — from your living room, your parked car on a lunch break, or a dorm room.
What you need
- A computer, phone, or tablet with a camera and microphone
- A stable internet connection
- A private spot where you can speak freely for the length of your visit
That's it — no software to buy and nothing complicated to set up.
Why patients choose telehealth
- Access from anywhere in Tennessee. Quality psychiatric care is scarce in many rural counties; video removes the distance.
- No commute. No drive, no parking, no waiting room — appointments fit into your day instead of consuming it.
- Privacy. You attend from a place you control, without running into anyone in a lobby.
- Continuity. Moved across the state, away at college, or home sick? Your care continues uninterrupted.
What we can do by video
- Psychiatric evaluations
- Medication management and follow-ups
- Therapy and counseling sessions
What happens in office
- Spravato® treatment, which requires direct clinical supervision
- Some testing, such as the GeneSight® cheek swab
Our offices are in Murfreesboro, McMinnville, and Dickson, and many patients mix video and in-person visits.

Have your visit
Your appointment proceeds just like an office visit, and any prescriptions are sent electronically to your preferred pharmacy.
Frequently asked questions
Is telehealth psychiatry as effective as in-person care?
Telepsychiatry is well established for evaluations, medication management, and talk therapy, and video visits at Shrinkty follow the same clinical process as office visits — with the same providers. Prescriptions are sent electronically either way. If your provider ever feels a visit should happen in person, our Murfreesboro, McMinnville, and Dickson offices make that easy.
What do I need for a video visit?
Three things: a computer, phone, or tablet with a camera and microphone; a stable internet connection; and a private spot where you can speak freely for the length of your visit. There's no software to buy, no downloads, and no account required — you join your provider's telehealth room from our website.
Which visits have to happen in person?
Spravato® treatment always happens in office, because it requires direct clinical supervision and a monitored post-dose observation period. Some testing, such as the GeneSight® cheek swab, is also done in person. Psychiatric evaluations, medication management, follow-ups, and therapy can all typically be done by video anywhere in Tennessee.
